Your Body is a Temple
- We’ve all heard this verse in 1 Corinthians 6:19- “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body,” but have you ever stopped to think about what it really means….?
Let’s look at the definition of temple first… courtesy of Google….
My first question was, what is a deity? Was that yours too? … lol
Well here it is:
Yes ladies, our Body is a Temple which is a place dedicated to the service and worship of a God and goddess! Which means, well at least to me, that our Bodies should be serviced, worshiped just as we service and worship God. Because we are the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27 ESV).
What we experience in the flesh here on Earth does and will never compare to what Jesus endured while he walked on land. But to think that some of us, abuse our bodes with food, food addictions, sexual immorality, criticism, self-hate and many other ways, pains me. Yes, sister, what you do with and to your temple every day matters….matters to our God and to Jesus, whom like us, also had a body.
A Body that endured so much and who later died on the cross so that we could have a chance to live and be different. So that our sins, even those that we commit with our body, are forgiven.
Does this pain you to hear, like it does for me? But doesn’t it also make you feel loved and appreciated and mostly forgiven. Because regardless of what we do, and as long as we surrender and ask for forgiveness, our Father God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit loves us, forgives us and is always available for us, because he already lives in us.
